School opening and closing hours

Before Care

Our regular programme hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. However, some families require longer hours for their work schedules. Kaleide offers Extended Day Care for families who absolutely need it to fit their work schedules. We offer Before School Care from 8:00 to 8:45 am and After School Care from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

Opening hours

The school day runs from 9.00am to 2.00pm from Monday to Friday.

Relaxed entry

Having a "relaxed entry" means we allow children to arrive at the school during an extended period of time, thus reducing stress and hurry for families.

Our doors open for a first entry period from 8.45 to 9:00. Primary students (Alisios and Zephyrs) are required to be in school by 9:00. Siroccos can continue to arrive until 9:25, and their parents can come into the school and spend some minutes with their children if they wish. We open our doors again between 9.50 and 10.00 (after our welcome circle/mentoring session) for any children arriving later.

All children require a verbal check-in and check-out with you as facilitator. This ensures every child’s safety since we need to know what children are in school to expedite evacuation of the premises in case of emergency. It is required that a parent accompanies the child to and from the school.

The arrival experience is different for each child, depending on the child, his or her experiences before coming to school, and what might be on his or her mind. This is the time when facilitators greet each child to make a connection, and check-in with parents about their child’s emotional state. We believe it is positive for the children to have their parents spend some minutes with them at the school at the beginning of the school day, and we encourage them to do so.

If a parent needs to talk with you about any issue they can let you know, but they are expected to be brief at this time since you won't be able to give them full attention. You can set another time to talk with them after school if necessary.

Afternoon Departure

Parents of the Siroccos group can come into the school as of 1.50pm to pick up their children.

If a child will be picked up by someone other than his/her parent, parents need to let the school know beforehand. Children cannot, under any circumstances, be dropped off or picked up outside school property, unless this has been organised by the school.

After School Care

The school is open until 4pm for after-school care.

Parents requesting this service must be at the school to pick up their children by 3.55pm.
