Student Agreement Contract
All children joining Kaleide will be signing (in whatever way they choose: with their signature, their name, a drawing, their finger print...) a contract with the school. This is because we believe children should be included in the decision of coming to our school; we want them to know that their decision and their commitment are what we most value. But it is also because our school is very different to others and we want to make sure that children know what to expect and what is expected of them.
This is our Student Agreement Contract:
By joining Kaleide, you will be able to:
take part in activities, workshops, lessons and projects offered at the school and off-site;
use the materials and tools at the school for learning, creation and exploration;
decide how to employ your time at the school;
play and mix with children and adults according to your preferences;
make decisions about how you would like the school to be.
You will also be expected to:
be kind and respectful to yourself and to others;
take responsibility and initiative for creating a fun, happy, safe, and supportive community;
use the "Stop Rule" and the conflict resolution process as needed;
participate and contribute to meetings;
share your work and play through weekly creative reflections;
clean up after yourself throughout the day and at afternoon cleanup time;
respect community agreements we implement and practice;
use our resources (furniture, art supplies, paper, computers, etc.) responsibly and with care.
I am signing this agreement to be an active member of the Kaleide community.
