FAQs
Holidays
We would like to create the best possible work atmosphere and give you as much time off as we possibly can. This means that, under normal circumstances, you will be able to have Christmas and Easter holidays, as well as the whole of August off. 30 days' holidays per year is the minimum you are entitled to, but we are very happy to give you more during the time when the school is closed.
Can we carry out educational workshops for other institutions if this doesn't interfere with our work at Kaleide?
We ask you to inform us if you intend to carry out professional activities outside school, including those not directly related to education, as we would first like to offer you the chance of doing that at Kaleide as after-school activities. Outside school, you may not carry out any activities which involve Kaleide families, as this could affect your relationship with them in school and in turn, the school's relationship with parents.
Working hours
The Spanish Collective Bargaining Agreement for teachers establishes some hours of "mera presencia" (mere presence) which do not count towards the total of 27 weekly work hours. How will we employ these hours?
Meetings (with parents or with the pedagogical team) will count as "complementary hours" (which are a total of 237 hours per year). "Mera presencia" is lunch time, for example.
How are we going to keep count of the 237 complementary hours?
We will be asking you to sign a daily register, which will be essential in calculating the actual hours you have worked.
What should I do if I have an accident while at work?
If you need immediate medical assistance call 112 for the emergency call line.
Please report any accidents to the Director. If you require medical assistance, we must fill in a report that you will need to bring to your medical appointment.
You can read the information provided by our accident insurance company (Muprespa) here.
